Zines are becoming increasingly popular worldwide as ‘spaces for free self-expression,’ where individuals can share their personal stories and minority viewpoints.
Zines are also gradually gaining popularity in Japan.
However, zines are often written in different languages, making them difficult to fully understand.
By breaking down these language barriers, we can deepen our appreciation of the works and creators.
With this in mind, we launched the ‘World XY Zine’ project to introduce amazing zines from around the world to Japanese readers. Our goal is to make these zines easy to enjoy and inspire readers to explore the world of zine-making.
